The storm event that impacted the Broken Hill Basketball Association stadium has left our facility facing significant repair and recovery challenges.

While insurance claims remain active and are progressing through the necessary assessment and approval processes, as outlined in recent updates from our insurance broker, there are substantial works that are not covered by insurance and must be completed before major restoration works can commence.

A key priority is the fixing and upgrade of the stadium's box guttering system, which is critical to preventing future water ingress and protecting the building from further damage. In addition, while internal repairs to the foyer roof are expected to be covered through insurance, the external roof replacement and associated works are the responsibility of the Association and are currently estimated to cost in excess of $200,000.

These essential infrastructure upgrades are vital to ensuring the long-term sustainability, safety and functionality of our stadium. Without them, the full restoration of the facility and future protection against severe weather events cannot be achieved.

Funds raised will directly contribute to these uninsured but essential works, helping us secure the future of basketball in Broken Hill and provide a safe, accessible and welcoming venue for players, families, officials and spectators.
