ABOUT Camryn Newton-Smith

Camryn Newton-Smith is a 26-year-old elite athlete proudly representing Australia on the world stage. As a multi-events competitor, Camryn challenges herself at the highest international level in the indoor pentathlon, the seven-discipline heptathlon, and the gruelling ten-event decathlon. She is the current Women's World Decathlon Champion and the current Oceania heptathlon champion.

Multi-events require absolute mastery across completely different track and field disciplines.

Indoor Pentathlon - 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, 800m

Heptathlon - 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin, 800m

Decathlon - 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400m, 100m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, 1500m

Achieving the highest standard requires considerable physical sacrifice, total focus and demanding training six days a week to build elite speed, strength and endurance. Alongside this athletic load, Camryn balances life as a Master of Education student and actively gives back to the sport by providing coaching services for up-and-coming junior athletes.

Competing globally as an unfunded elite athlete can present an even greater challenge than the sport itself. The financial cost of international travel to attend meets, multiple sets of specialised equipment and gear, coaching fees and medical support can be overwhelming.

To help bridge this financial gap and fuel her journey toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, Camryn has partnered with the Australian Sports Foundation. This partnership means every donation over $2 is fully tax-deductible for Australian taxpayers. Your support directly funds the essential resources she needs to train, travel and conquer the international stage.

In Her Own Words

"There is no greater honour than wearing the green and gold and represeting Australia. Every time I line up, I carry the support of my community, my family, and everyone who helped me get there. Competing in multi-events tests every limit, but knowing I am flying the flag for Australia makes every drop of sweat and every exhausting training session worthwhile. Your support doesn't just fund my journey, it puts you right along side me at the track."
