Some opportunities in life deserve to be backed.

This June, Melo will travel to Los Angeles to attend elite American football training camps, continue developing his game, and learn firsthand what it takes to compete at the next level.

Then in July, Melo has been selected to represent the New Zealand U16 Gridiron Team, an incredible honour and a major milestone in his journey. From July 4th–12th, he will travel to Auckland New Zealand for team camp and competition, where the NZ U16 side will take on the Australian U16 team at the festival of football.

After proudly representing New Zealand in July, the next goal for Melo is to return to America in August to hopefully play a full season of youth football, an opportunity that would allow him to continue developing against high-level competition while gaining valuable exposure in the U.S. football system. Competing in America would not only accelerate his growth as an athlete, but also expose him to elite coaching, new experiences, and potential future pathways. This fundraiser is about helping give Melo every possible opportunity to chase his dream and continue building toward the highest level of the game.

For a young athlete from Australia, opportunities like this don’t come often.

The pathway to American football at the highest level takes sacrifice, discipline, courage, and the support of people willing to believe in young athletes before the world knows their name.

Melo isn’t asking for a handout.

He’s asking for an opportunity.

He trains relentlessly, represents his family and culture with pride, and continues to chase a dream bigger than himself. These experiences are about more than football. They’re about growth, leadership, education, exposure, life experience, and proving to young athletes from Australia and New Zealand that anything is possible.
