We currently have no dedicated spectator seating. Our volunteers bring out chairs each game day for our spectators to use. As a result we are seeking a grant to purchase 2 × 5mtr grandstands with seating capacity up to 100 people. We are a non profit grassroots sporting club run totally by volunteers. The seating will provide dedicated seating for our spectators and reduce the workload for our volunteers who take out and return many single chairs to our club house on game days. It is increasingly more difficult to attract and retain volunteers and new spectator seating will reduce their workload. Although we fundraise with pie drives and weekly raffles, it would take us many years to raise the funds for this purchase. We share our grounds with Mackay Junior Cricket which has 5 junior cricket pitches there. They will also use these portable grandstands costing $21848 excl gst.
