    The Collingwood Football Club, nicknamed the Magpies or simply the Pies, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Melbourne, Victoria. Founded in 1892, it is one of the most successful and popular clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL), with 16 premierships. 


    The Club was formed in 1892, initially representing the suburb of Collingwood. It joined the Victorian Football Association (VFA) before becoming a founding member of the Victorian Football League (VFL), now the AFL. The club is known for its large and passionate supporter base, often referred to as the "Magpie Army" with a membership number over 112,000.
