The Dr.Tom Nutley Fields in Nth Rockhampton, have old end-of-life floodlights which have served their purpose, but are now failing rapidly.

The wooden poles were erected in the late 1970's to early 1980's. The 45-y-old inefficient mercury vapour lamps and ballasts are unavailable to purchase, not practical to replace, and cannot provide lux levels to meet current Australian Standards.

A recent electrical inspection has deemed the control wiring unsafe and in need of complete replacement.

Our games are restricted to the heat of the day, and training at night is unsafe for our men, women and youth players, due to dark areas and low lux levels. We have to hire extra generator lights for junior and senior competition games, which still do not meet the safety standards.

We have developed new floodlighting plans for funding submissions, to hopefully acquire a substantial amount of support for this costly project, which will Include a proposed netball training court for our associated netball teams.

This major project has been our top priority for many years, and all donations would be gratefully received and acknowledged.

Our club has the support of Rockhampton Regional Council, Rugby Capricornia, CQ Bushrangers, Qld Rugby, Rugby Australia, local clubs and primary schools rugby league, and our political representatives in Central Qld.
