Comet Bay Basketball is a rapidly growing community club providing safe, inclusive, and development‑focused basketball opportunities for young people and families in the Secret Harbour region. We are committed to keeping community sport accessible, supportive, and focused on building confidence, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits.

What we are raising funds to do

We are seeking funding to keep basketball affordable and attractive for local families by reducing participation costs and improving the quality of our programs. This includes supporting equipment needs, subsidising program delivery, and ensuring families are not priced out of community sport.

Why we care about this

Basketball is one of the most popular and beneficial sports for young people, but rising costs can make participation difficult for many families. As a community‑driven club, we believe every child should have the chance to play, learn, and belong — regardless of financial circumstances. Making basketball affordable strengthens community connection, supports youth wellbeing, and ensures families see value in choosing our club.

How we plan to make it happen

• Reducing out‑of‑pocket costs for families by subsidising essential equipment and program delivery
• Offering high‑quality coaching and development programs that give players a positive, rewarding experience
• Creating a welcoming, well‑organised environment that encourages parents to choose basketball as their preferred sport
• Continuing to invest in female‑led programs and inclusive pathways that attract and retain young players

This funding will help us keep basketball accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable for the hundreds of young people and families who rely on our club.
