ABOUT Connor Wright
Connor is an exceptional and passionate young cyclist who has been racing since the moment his training wheels came off. With a deep love for the sport, Connor has competed across various disciplines, including Cross-Country Olympic (XCO), Cross-Country Short Circuit (XCC), Cross-Country Marathon (XCM), Gravity Enduro (GE), Downhill (DHI), and Road Cycling. His primary focus and passion has been in XCO, where he has consistently demonstrated his prowess and potential, securing the Australian XCO and XCC National Champion titles for six consecutive years (2020 U13, 2021 U15, 2022 U15, 2023 U17, 2024 U17, 2025 U19).
In 2024 Connor has added Road Cycling to his focus and was selected to represent WA at the Junior Road Nationals in South Australian where he brough home gold for the Criterium.
Connor's dedication and talent have positioned him as one of Australia’s most promising young cyclists. Currently holding 5 Australian National Champion titles, he is laying the foundation for a long and successful career in cycling. His ultimate ambition is to represent Australia in XCO and Road in the European and World Cup circuits and the Olympics.
The selection for the Aus Cycling Mountain Bike Junior Europe trip in May 2024 was a significant milestone in Connor's career, providing him with invaluable experience on the international stage and achieving 2 wins for Australia.
In late 2024 he was selected for the ARA Skip Capital U19 Road Team which has given him the amazing opportunity to do both mountain biking and road cycling. He toured Europe with ARA Skip Capital and combining it with the Aus cycling Mountain Bike Europe tour in 2025. For road he achieved an impressionable 1 st place at the Gran Premio della Liberazione Juniors in Italy. In MTB he took 1 st at UCI XCO Junior World Series Bike the Rock with a 30 second lead and a close and competitive 2 nd in the UCI Junior World Cup in Nove Mesto.
2026 is another demanding career founding year for Connor, a year where he will chase every Under 19 JUnior World Cup XCO Series event across Europe to be recognised and appreciated as the serious athlete he is and to be closer to the career in cycling he wants. Connor will also make several trips over east to represent WA in the National XCO Cup rounds and the National Championships.
Whilst he is fortunate enough to have support with the Trek Shimano Australia team and all their subsidiary suppliers, travel expenses and race entries fees still fall on the athlete.
Connor will be travelling to Europe in Marchfor 6 months for several prestigiuos Road and XCO races with the grand finale in Sep - The UCI World Championships in italy.
