At Cooma Gymnastics Club, we believe every child should have the opportunity to challenge themselves, discover what they are capable of and experience the sense of achievement that comes from reaching a goal.

We are raising funds to help provide more children from our local community with the opportunity to participate in gymnastics competitions, both locally and across NSW. For many of our gymnasts, competing is an exciting milestone that gives them something to work towards, builds confidence and resilience, and allows them to celebrate the skills they have worked so hard to develop.

As a regional gymnastics club, our athletes often need to travel significant distances to attend competitions. The costs of entry fees, travel, accommodation and other competition expenses can quickly become a barrier for families. We don't want the cost of competing to be the reason a child misses out on an experience that could have a lasting impact on their confidence and love of gymnastics.

Why it matters to us

Cooma Gymnastics Club is a community-focused, not-for-profit club supporting more than 200 gymnasts and families from across the Snowy Monaro region. Our gymnasts come from Cooma, Berridale, Bredbo, Jindabyne, Nimmitabel and surrounding communities.

We are proud to provide opportunities for children to participate in gymnastics regardless of whether their goal is simply to learn new skills, compete at a local event or work towards higher-level competition.

We have seen firsthand the difference that competition can make. It teaches children how to set goals, work through challenges, support their teammates, manage nerves and celebrate their achievements. These are skills that extend well beyond the gym.

How we will make it happen

Funds raised through this campaign will be used to help reduce the financial barriers associated with competition and allow more of our gymnasts to participate.

Our goal is to support athletes with competition-related costs and create greater opportunities for our gymnasts to attend events locally and across NSW. This will allow more children to represent Cooma Gymnastics Club, experience the excitement of competition and compete alongside other gymnasts from across the state.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us give another young athlete the opportunity to say “I can do this!”

Who we are

Cooma Gymnastics Club is a not-for-profit, community-based gymnastics club run with the support of our dedicated coaches, volunteers, athletes and families. We are passionate about creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment where every gymnast can learn, grow, belong and achieve their personal best.

We are proud to represent our regional community and to give local children opportunities that they may otherwise have limited access to because of where they live.
