My approach to fencing and competition is one of curiosity! Every time I step out to fence is a chance to test the limits of AS, of my skills and of my own resilence.

AS is degenerative autoimmune disease, and a dynamic disability. It can affect my mobility, my day-to-day health, and causes high levels of persistent pain and fatigue. Despite this, I compete in the able-bodied event, and I am currently ranked 8th in Australia.

Currently, my fencing career is completely self funded. This includes all costs associated with training, equipment, travel, competition entry and accomodation.

To see how truly competitive I could be, I need to access training and competition opportunities across Australia and overseas.

Unfortunately this cost is prohibitively high, with the average cost of attending a single international event sitting at approximately $4000-6000 AUD.
