Cowra Netball Association is a community sporting association with a proud history of developing players, coaches and umpires from within our local community.

Like many regional sporting organisations, one of our greatest challenges is not producing talented young people – it is retaining them.

Cowra sits within relatively easy reach of larger netball centres including Orange, Bathurst, Young and Blayney. These associations can often offer access to greater training resources, specialist coaching and development opportunities. As our players progress and show potential, there can be a natural pull towards these larger centres to access opportunities that we simply haven't had the resources to provide locally.

We want to change that.

Our goal is to better equip Cowra Netball to develop the talent we produce right here in Cowra. We want our young players to be able to train in a high-quality environment, access strong coaching and development opportunities, and see a genuine pathway to progress in the sport without feeling that they need to leave their local association to do so.

Importantly, this isn't only about our strongest representative players. Investment in development has a flow-on effect across our whole association. Better resources help our coaches become better coaches, our developing players benefit from higher-quality training, and the knowledge and experience gained through our representative program filters back into our Saturday competition and younger age groups.

Over recent years, Cowra Netball has worked hard to strengthen our association. We have invested in our facilities, our representative program, umpire development and creating opportunities for our members. Much of this work is driven by volunteers who give an enormous amount of their own time because they care about the future of netball in Cowra.

The next step is to ensure the opportunities we can provide match the potential of the people coming through our association.

Funding would allow us to invest directly in the resources and development opportunities that are difficult for a smaller regional association to fund alone. We want to build a program that is sustainable, benefits players across multiple age groups and ability levels, and strengthens the skills of the coaches and volunteers who will continue developing Cowra players for years to come.

Ultimately, we want a talented young netballer in Cowra to look at their local association and see opportunity – not limitation.

We know we have the talent. We have the volunteers, the commitment and a community that loves its netball. We want to make sure we also have the resources to give our players the best opportunity to develop, succeed and, importantly, stay part of Cowra Netball.
