    ABOUT Daniel Shlimak

    Beaumaris, VIC

At a time when many young people are pulled away from long-term goals by constant digital noise, sport remains one of the few environments that teaches discipline, resilience, and accountability through action, not words.

This campaign supports Daniel Shlimak, a 14-year-old Australian karate athlete, as he continues on the high-performance pathway. To progress in his division and earn international ranking points, Daniel must compete on the tatami at approved overseas events — making international competition a necessary and structural part of his sporting development.

Daniel’s journey has been built over many years through consistent training, discipline, and long-term commitment. Since the age of four, he has trained with focus and integrity, representing his state and country with pride. This pathway requires sustained investment, particularly at the under-16 level, where access to international competition determines progression and opportunity.

Funds raised through the Australian Sports Foundation are used to support training, coaching, international competition travel, accommodation, and preparation for major events.

This support allows Daniel to remain focused on performance and development while representing Australian sport with integrity and respect.

As Daniel’s parent and manager, I support his journey both on and off the tatami and ensure his pathway remains grounded in structure, integrity, long-term development and a supporting community.
