Darts Queensland is raising funds to preserve the history of one of Queensland’s longest-standing community sports while building a modern, inclusive future for the game. Since darts was introduced into Queensland following World War II, the sport has grown through generations of volunteers, regional associations, clubs, and players who helped establish organised competition across the state from the 1950s onward.

Our focus is to protect that legacy while creating sustainable pathways for future participation. Funding will support the development of governance systems, digital infrastructure, regional growth initiatives, coaching and development programs, historical archiving, volunteer capability, and accessible participation opportunities for players of all ages and backgrounds. We are also working toward establishing long-term development facilities and modern member services that strengthen community connection and sporting opportunity across Queensland.

We care deeply about this work because darts has always been more than a game. It has provided community connection, social inclusion, regional engagement, and lifelong participation opportunities for thousands of Queenslanders. Many of the sport’s foundations were built by volunteers and returned servicemen who created welcoming environments in local clubs and communities. Preserving that culture while modernising the sport responsibly is central to our mission.

We plan to achieve this through strong governance, transparent financial management, strategic partnerships, digital innovation, grassroots investment, volunteer development, and collaboration with associations, councils, sporting bodies, and community organisations. Darts Queensland is positioning itself as a sustainable, member-focused sporting organisation capable of delivering measurable community outcomes and long-term growth.
