ABOUT Dean Daubaras
Modern Pentathlon isn’t your average sport—and I’m not your average athlete.
I discovered Modern Pentathlon through a deep curiosity for challenge and a lifelong love for sport. The sport’s unique combination of fencing, swimming, obstacle, running, and laser pistol shooting was instantly captivating. Each discipline tests not only the body but the mind—demanding adaptability, strategy, resilience, and unwavering focus.
What started as an exploration quickly turned into a calling. Balancing five disciplines while working full-time in financial services has taught me more about discipline, time management, and mental fortitude than any boardroom ever could. It’s this intersection—of athletic performance and professional ambition—that defines who I am.
I started in October 2024, recently winning my first national title and being chosen to represent Australia in international competitions. My focus is currently on:
- Competing at the Laser Run World Championships in South Africa this December
- Earning a place on the Australian team for the LA 2028 Olympic Games
This journey isn’t just about medals. It’s about pushing the limits of what’s possible—personally, professionally, and as a representative of Australia on the global stage. It’s about showing what dedication looks like when you pursue excellence across multiple arenas.
