ABOUT Dean Hewitt

Glen Waverley, VIC

Winter Olympian, Dean Hewitt and his teammate, Tahli Gill, are at the forefront of building Australia’s competitive presence in international curling. With world-class results, unwavering dedication, and a goal to represent Australia again, your support will help fund his journey to the Winter Olympic Gold.

Dean began curling as a child and has risen through Australia’s curling ranks to become one of its most accomplished athletes. Alongside his mixed-doubles partner Tahli Gill, he made history by becoming the first Australian curlers to compete at the Olympics, representing Australia at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. In 2025, Dean and Tahli earned a historic bronze medal at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships, marking Australia’s first medal at a major world curling event.

The pair remain among the world’s top-ranked mixed-doubles teams, demonstrating international competitiveness and strong potential heading into the Olympic cycle. The team's athletic journey reflects passion, resilience, and determination whilst overcoming limited domestic support and scarce curling infrastructure to compete at the highest international level.

With Australia lacking a purpose-built curling facility, the team spends much of the year abroad to help support their Olympic dream. Support is needed to cover:

  • International-level training and competition
  • Ice time, travel and accommodation for global competitions
  • Competition fees and related logistics

By supporting, you give Australia their final chance to qualify for the second consecutive Olympics and chase Winter Olympic Gold. All donations are tax-deductible, and every contribution, no matter the size, directly helps Dean compete with the best in the world.
