ABOUT Denmark Sailing Club
The Denmark Sailing Club is a junior- and family-oriented club operating in regional WA in the stunning Wilson Inlet. Our sailors are heavily involved in the sailing community in WA, and are punching well above their weight in representation at state and national level competitions, as well as providing a key avenue for locals to learn to sail, and enjoy nature. However, we do all of this without even a basic clubhouse structure...
Our volunteers are working overtime to tow trailers of equipment and boats for every scheduled sailing activity, and have to set up a large gazebo, BBQ/camp kitchen, unload boats from large trailers etc just to get our kids on the water. Even so, we have no shower facilities to warm the kids up when they come in cold, and there is no electricity to even run a kettle.
We would love to put in place a small 'clubhouse' structure (eg a clad shipping container, or similar) with basic amenities to support our sailing activities. We are working with the Denmark Shire to ensure a peppercorn lease of our site, and are seeking donations to cover the purchase of a container and minimal site and building works.
Your donation would be gratefully appreciated by our sailors!
