    ABOUT Ebony Robinson

I am Ebony Robinson, a 17 year old track sprinter and I’ve been racing since I was a little kid. I have the amazing privilege of realising my dream being selected to race for Australia in the 2025 World Junior Championships in the Netherlands. I am the current U/19 Australian Champion, as well as the Oceania Champion in both the Sprint and Keirin events.

In addition to individual events, I will also be part of a formidable Team Sprint combination, being joined by powerhouse Queenslanders Olivia Wright, and Ella Liang who broke my National 1000km Time Trial Record by setting a new World Record!

Cycling is an expensive sport to be a part of, particularly if you come from a rural area. I have been fortunate and wouldn’t be where I am without the support of the Bathurst Cycling Club and the Western Region Academy of Sport. I love racing locally and engaging with the younger juniors as a female role model - inspiring as many other country kids as I can!

Some of you would be unaware that the national governing body does not provide any financial support to members of the Australian Team at these world championships. Right down to the athletes paying the costs for team staff. Flights, accomodation, entry fees, upcoming interstate training camps, uniform right down to my socks! It’s a huge cost.

Members of the 15 strong team from other states, are mostly provided with their cycling equipment by their state institutes. There is no longer a NSW Institute of Sport sprint cycling program, meaning I have the additional costs of supplying all of my own equipment to compete at world level - Bike, wheels, and all the paraphernalia that goes with it.

I’m getting on with the job of being the fastest rider I can be.

Be a part of my journey and ride with me!
