ABOUT Ellen Martini
Hi, my name is Ellen Martini. I am a recurve archer from South Queensland, and I have been selected to represent Australia at two international events. This will be my first time representing Australia internationally and I am extremely excited. The competitions are:
- World Youth Archery Championships, Winnipeg, Canada
- Trans Tasman Challenge, Christchurch, New Zealand
These events are mostly self funded. We will have to cover the costs of return flights, accommodation, food and entry fees as well as the additional costs of equipment. Together this is estimated to cost $14,400.
- Equipment: $3400
- Flights: $5000
- Accommodation and food: $4600
- Entry fees: $1400
Over my 4 years of shooting, I have been on the Queensland state team three times. Most recently this was at the National Youth Archery Championships. Day one I shot as an under 16 in the 900 round and I placed 1st. The rest of the competition I competed a division up as an under 18. In the 720 round I ended up placing 1st as well. This seeded me second for matchplay where I shot against some amazing U18 and U21 archers. After an intense finals match I was lucky enough to place 1st. To top it all off we also successfully defended the state team title. Currently, I also hold a few state and national records. Some of my other achievements include:
2024: Youth National Archery Championships: 1st in the 900, field and indoor rounds, 2nd in the 720 round and 1st as a state team
Indoor Nationals: 3rd individually, 1st with the state team and 3rd in the youth team event.
2023: Indoor Nationals: 2nd individually
2022: Postal Youth Nationals: 3rd overall
Aside from archery I also love reading fantasy books and playing with my two cats. I also achieve well academically. My school has awarded my multiple academic and sports awards the most notable being the first recipient of the junior sports woman of the year award.
Any donations will be appreciated no matter the size. Everything will help me reach my goals of representing archery internationally, not just at a junior but also at a senior level and hopefully the '32 Olympics.
