    The Dream

I have my sights set on a berth at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. My primary goal is to win a gold medal at the 2032 Olympic Games in the Mixed 470 class. Before then, I am working towards selection for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Using the Olympic stage as a platform, my ultimate goal is to see Sailing grow in the international sporting scene. My dream is for more people around the world and especially in Australia to take to the sport I love. Sailing is uniquely positioned to make a broader positive impact on society. As a sport rooted in nature, it is continually demonstrating its ability to lead on issues like sustainability and inclusion. I see my future in this sport not just in terms of competition, but also in terms of creating positive change.

    What I do

Getting to an Olympic Games is never easy. Sailing in particular demands experience, patience and extensive technical knowledge. This is especially true in the 470 class, the longest standing event on the Olympic sailing program, where top level sailors are often in their thirties. Reaching the top of this class is a long process.

I am continually developing across every area of performance. Technical ability is only one part of the challenge, fitness, psychology and ongoing equipment development is equally important. The gold medal standard is continually progressing, which means the search for each new improvement never stops.

Success in the 470 depends on consistent exposure to high quality international racing together with dedicated structured training at home. In 2026 I will be spending upwards of four months away at national and international championships. I also travel regularly across Australia for regional regattas and training camps. When I am home, my training schedule involves at least four days a week on the water, based out of the National Training Centre at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club. This training is supported by a further 6 gym and fitness sessions.

    What you can do

Sailing is a financially demanding sport. The combined costs of equipment, maintenance, coaching, travel and international competition place a significant burden on developing athletes, particularly those still working toward full national funding. A high performance campaign requires continuous investment in boats, sails, hardware, specialist coaching and regular exposure to elite racing environments. These expenses increase sharply once training and competition shift to overseas venues, which is essential in the 470 class due to the strength of the international circuit.

As I prepare for key events in the lead up to the 2028 Olympic Games, financial support becomes critical. Consistent access to European and North American regattas, international training blocks and world class coaching directly influences performance progression and long term competitiveness. Without external support, the ability to attend these events, make necessary equipment upgrades and sustain a structured training program becomes far more limited.

Your support enables me to invest in the resources required to train at a professional level. It helps maintain continuity in high level preparation, ensures I can compete against the world’s best throughout the season, and gives me the stability to focus fully on improving as an athlete.

    About me

At twenty one, I am ranked 86th in the world, hold an emerging athlete scholarship with the NSW Institute of Sport, and am part of Australian Sailing’s three boat Futures squad in the 470 class. My journey began much earlier on Pittwater, sailing with my dad on our family Heron, a timber gaff rigged dinghy. At that age I was mostly being taken along rather than choosing to sail, and I actually didn’t enjoy it much. This changed once I started regular sessions at BYRA in Bayview and later at RPAYC in Newport. Discovering the feeling of controlling my own boat made the sport exciting and something I wanted to pursue.

I followed the traditional pathway through the Optimist class, competing at my first national championships in 2016. After outgrowing the Opti, I moved into the 29er, spending two years helming before switching to crewing. The speed, technical demands and tactical depth of the class drew me in. Over the five years I spent in the 29er, I won three state championships and the 2022 national title during my final high school year. I then travelled to Barcelona for the world championships while I continued preparing for my exams. After finishing school I shifted into the 49erFX, placing fifth at the 2023 Sail Sydney Regatta.

In 2024, at the start of the new Olympic cycle, I teamed up with Sienna Brown from the Northern Beaches to race the 470. Since then we have committed to a program of domestic and international training with the ambition of representing Australia in 2028. Our first international season in 2025 brought modest results, a 41st at the Junior Europeans and 39th at the Junior Worlds. Since then our domestic results have shown strong potential, including second at Sail Melbourne and winning the maiden Victor Kovalenko Cup in Sydney.

Away from the boat you’ll find me studying or working. In 2026 I am entering my fourth year of a double degree in Actuarial Science and Economics at UNSW Sydney, a demanding course that certainly keeps me busy. I am also engaged in sail coaching, as the head coach of a school program, sailing out of RPAYC.
