ABOUT Estelle Bolton

Estelle is our shy and considerate youngest. Being the youngest leads to lots of advantages; like getting hand me down clothes (although she doesn't always think this is the positive mum and dad try to make out). Estelle also has the advantage of good examples from her siblings, insisting that she wanted to play football in a team like her sister and motivated to become a great player also.

Estelle has become used to working hard, tragedy struck when she was little and damage to her inner ear has left her with some balance issues and profound deafness on one side.

We are in the lucky country and all the extra services for learning have helped her reach a competent level with reading and writing (thank you Telethon Speech & Hearing).

When she falls on the field, she gets straight up and back into action without complaint.

While her older sister trialed hard on the fringes for many years, finally making the state team this year, Estelle has had the advantage of her sister, and parents, learnings about the football system. Estelle was selected into the Football West Academy at the first opportunity... so while super proud this did mean any unused days of the week were now taken up travelling across the city for their sport.

Understanding bosses, car sharing were possible with those in the programs who live closer and grateful help from grandparents have eased the burden, however two national tournaments in two different cities and two different times could need to be funded this year.

There are no guarantees of where the girls end up (while they dream of the Matilda's and maybe Chelsea with Sam, it would still be great if it's with Perth SC, Redstar or Freo in the local Women's comp), for now we would like them to fully contribute to the W.A. teams and if selected have the opportunity to compete in every national tournament over the next few years.

While we also appreciate how lucky we are to have such an opportunity, we are asking if the greater community would like help share in Estelle’s journey.
