ABOUT Evan Barrett
I’m raising funds to support my journey representing South Australia and Australia in field hockey at elite junior level.
My name is Evan Barrett, I’m a 15-year-old hockey player from the Barossa in South Australia, and hockey has become a huge part of my life. I currently compete across Premier League Men, Metro 1 Men & Under 18s competitions, regularly playing against older and more experienced athletes to continue improving my game.
In 2026, I was honoured to captain the South Australian U16 team and was selected in the Australian U16 squad following the National Championships in Tasmania in April. I was also selected in the South Australian U18 team, the only 15-year-old player chosen, for the national championships in the Northern Territory in July 2026.
I currently train up to five times a week throughout the season while balancing school, travel, recovery, and competition commitments (usually 2-3 games/weekend). Representing my state and country is something I’m incredibly proud of, and I’m determined to keep pushing myself to reach the highest level possible.
The funds raised will help cover the significant costs involved in competing at this level, including, travel and flights, accommodation, tournament and team fees, uniforms and equipment and training and preparation expenses.
Elite junior sport requires a major commitment both on and off the field, and every contribution will help ease the financial pressure on my family while allowing me to continue pursuing opportunities to represent South Australia and Australia.
Thank you for supporting my journey and helping me chase my ultimate dream of wearing the Green & Gold.
