ABOUT Fioretto Fencing Club
Our club is the only not-for-profit organisation in Victoria, with unlimited access to our training venue and we keep our fees low to make fencing affordable to all. Maestro's vision for fencing was to give everyone a chance to fence - it is for the community, not for the elite. We have undergone extensive renovations, all paid for by our savings, to enlarge our training space and modernise our facilities.
We are approaching the last stage of our renovations: our entrance - a glass sliding door, a roller shutter for security, and wheelchair accessible entryway - turning "entry denied" into "en garde!" for all! We hope to be able to create Victoria's first club-based wheelchair fencing program - fencing should be about parrying barriers, not perpetuating them.
We have a long history of good governance, financial management and community engagement, but everything costs money... and these days, it costs more than usual. The last stage of our project is estimated to be over $15,000. Due to this, we are hoping to raise $4000, and we are also doing a fundraiser at Bunnings on April 12th (and hopefully another one later this year). We would fund the rest ourselves.
Your once-off donation will be so greatly appreciated by the Fioretto community! By the end of 2027, our project should finally be done and have a wheelchair fencing group underway already.
