ABOUT FLAMIN' DRAGONS PORT MACQUARIE INC
Flamin Dragons Port Macquarie have been invited by the Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF) to send a Women's Crew to represent Australian club crews at the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) Club Crew World Championships, being held in Taiwan from 29 August - 6 September 2026. This invitation followed the impressive performance of the crew at State and Australian Dragon Boat Championships with podium finishes at both events in 2025!
We need your support to reduce financial barriers to participating in this world class event, enabling this dedicated and motivated group of regional women to achieve their dream of representing Australian Dragon Boat crews on the world stage. This same team were recently announced as winners of the Senior (over 19 years) Team of the Year at the 2025 Sunrise Hastings Sports Awards.
Importantly, we are a group of women from regional NSW, who together with the support of other Flamin Dragons Port Macquarie club members, are working together to achieve this aim. The thrill of competing in such an event, with crews from countries throughout the world, should not be impeded by financial constraints.
Costs that need to be covered include international travel, accommodation, travel and registration to compete at State and Australian championships in preparation for World Championships (a condition of participation), and registration to participate in Taiwan.
In between on-water paddling and racing training, and off-water strength and cardio training, we are banding together with other club members to do all we can to raise the funds needed to compete in Taiwan. Your support will help ensure no one in the crew is unable to participate in the 2026 World Championships due to financial barriers.
Help us achieve our goal of putting Port Macquarie on the world Dragon Boat Racing map.
