    ABOUT Flynn O'Loughlin

    Ipswich, QLD

Flynn is a Year 12 student at BSHS who began his rowing journey through the school’s rowing program and has since developed a strong passion and commitment to the sport. Earlier this year, Flynn rowed in the 4 seat of the BSHS First VIII crew that made history by finishing third at the GPS Head of the River, the first time Brisbane State High School had reached the podium in 48 years.

He has recently been selected to represent Australia at the International Rowing Challenge in the USA in July 2026, an opportunity that reflects years of hard work, discipline, and dedication both on and off the water.

Balancing school, training, competition, and part-time work has required significant commitment. Early mornings, training sessions before and after school, interstate racing, and study have all become part of daily life in pursuit of this goal.

The tour is expected to cost approximately $8,500, covering flights, accommodation, uniforms, travel, and team expenses. Flynn is contributing towards the cost himself through his weekend rubbish bin cleaning business and casual work at the rowing course, and we are seeking support from the community to help make this opportunity possible.

Every donation, no matter the size, will directly support Flynn’s opportunity to travel to the USA, compete internationally, and represent Australia with pride.

Thank you for supporting Flynn’s journey.
