    ABOUT Illawarra Catholic Club

    Sandringham, NSW

The young sailors from Georges River Sailing Club have spent the past few years building their skills, confidence and love for the sport through the club’s Learn to Sail and Learn to Race programs.

Now, they are ready to step up their game.

From Green Fleet sailors building their racing experience to Intermediate sailors aiming for Open Fleet and beyond, each member of the team is working towards new goals on the water. Achieving these goals takes commitment, hard work and, most importantly, access to quality coaching.

Our team is made up of sailors from a range of backgrounds, united by friendship, a shared passion for sailing and the opportunity to represent their club. However, the cost of attending regattas - and ensuring coach support is available at those events - can place significant pressure on families.

This fundraising campaign is specifically focused on funding additional coach support for our sailors. The funds raised will help cover the cost of coaches attending more regattas and delivering pre-regatta training clinics, providing our team with the guidance and feedback needed to continue developing their skills and performance.

Having a coach at regattas makes a real difference. Between races, sailors receive immediate feedback and support to refine their strategy, technique and decision-making. Coaches can also capture video footage on the water, allowing sailors to review their performance and focus their training on areas for improvement back at the club.

Your support will help provide the coaching these young sailors need to achieve their goals, continue their development and proudly represent Georges River Sailing Club.

Thank you for supporting our sailors and helping them reach their potential on the water.
