ABOUT Georgia Brown
Georgia started playing baseball in 2018. As she's grown and developed, so has her love for the sport.
Georgia's baseball career started locally, but she set her sights big, in wanting to one day play on the international stage.
Living rurally, baseball at home runs during winter only, meaning for year round sport we have to commute to Melbourne twice weekly for practice and games.
Doing so, has allowed Georgia to try out for many teams, with her highlight in 2024 playing in the Australian all girls little league nationals and being part of the silver medal team.
This year Georgia has become successful in gaining a place in another national team playing for Victoria in the Barclay Cup, in Adelaide. Another of her personal accomplishments, in partaking in girls / women's baseball among friends she's met along the way.
This tournament will see Georgia travelling away for a week with her victorian teamates to compete.
Funds raised will go towards these expenses needed to cover her travel, accommodation, And entry fees / insurances.
As well as the costs associated with the team travel, Georgia's main requirements are a new baseball bat, and a new pair of baseball shoes.
As her mum, I've always made sure Georgia works towards her goals, and helps me in raising funds to meet these goals also.
Barclay cup has been on Georgia's sights for a long time, so we have been collecting cans and bottles, and scrap metal and cashing it in to work towards covering as much as we can ourselves for the past year.
Any donation great or small would be greatly appreciated.
This tournament is alot more than just a love of Baseball for Georgia, it's teaching our young girls to be team players, keeping fit, setting goals, making friends, lerning independence and creating amazing memories.
Barclay Cup 2025, Victorian team: Hornet's.
