ABOUT Goondiwindi Amatuer Basketball Association
The Goondiwindi Amateur Basketball Association is a volunteer-run club dedicated to creating a safe and positive environment for young people in our regional community. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate in sport, regardless of their background or financial situation.
We are raising funds to replace our worn-out equipment, including old basketballs that are becoming a safety hazard. We need new training aids, game balls, and safety equipment like electric whistles to ensure our program remains viable. This isn't just about replacing old gear; it's about removing financial barriers so that every child can play.
Many of the 95 kids in our program are vulnerable and at-risk youth, some referred to us directly by the police. For them, basketball is more than a game—it's a positive outlet that provides structure, a sense of belonging, and keeps them engaged in a healthy activity. Research shows that involvement in sport helps keep youth out of the juvenile justice system, and our program is a vital part of that effort in Goondiwindi.
By securing new equipment, we can keep our registration fees low and provide a high-quality, safe experience for all our players. Your support will directly help us continue this critical work and ensure that basketball remains accessible to every child in our community.
