The Gunnedah Athletics Centre is an entirely volunteer‑led and run Little Athletics club that provides inclusive, affordable and positive sporting opportunities for children and young people across Gunnedah and surrounding communities. Each season, from September to December, we support athletes from Tiny Tots through to over 16 years of age, introducing them to running, jumping and throwing in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.

We are raising funds to support our volunteers and improve the equipment and resources needed to safely run our rapidly growing athletics program. As a community club with no paid staff, volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. Funding will help us replace and maintain essential equipment, support volunteer training and accreditation, and ensure our facilities remain safe and welcoming for all participants.

We care deeply about this cause because we see firsthand the impact athletics has on our children. Our Club focuses on participation, skill development and achieving personal bests, rather than just competition. Every child is encouraged, celebrated and supported to feel confident, capable and proud of their own achievements. The smiles at the finish line and the confidence built each week show the true value of what we provide.

The 2025/26 season marked our highest growth to date, with over 200 children registered, making Gunnedah one of the largest Little Athletics clubs in the region. This growth is driven by the dedication of our volunteer committee and the commitment of parents and carers who turn up each week to officiate, coach, set up equipment and cheer on every child.

With community support and fundraising, we can continue to grow sustainably, support our volunteers, and ensure every child in Gunnedah has the opportunity to participate, thrive and enjoy athletics.
