    ABOUT Harrison Purcell

    Brassall, QLD

My name is Harry Purcell, I’m a 19-year-old hurdler from Brisbane, and I’ve been selected to represent Australia in the 110m hurdles at the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Athletics has become a big part of my life, not just for competition, but because of the way it has shaped my thinking, my values, and my discipline in everything I do. I’ve built my routine around early mornings, late nights, training, study, and long drives between everything. It’s meant sacrifice and constantly finding time where there isn’t much of it, but also choosing an environment that keeps me improving. Every rep carries hard work, but also purpose in knowing this is something I’ve chosen for myself and continue to commit to. I’ve learnt a lot through this sport and the people I’ve met along the way, and those experiences have shaped the path that’s brought me to this opportunity.

I’m now raising funds to help make this trip possible and cover travel, accommodation, uniforms, training camps, and competition costs. I don’t have major sponsorship or funding support, so any help takes pressure off my family and allows me to focus fully on preparing and performing at my best on the world stage. Whether it’s a donation or sharing my story, I’m genuinely grateful for any support.
