Help Hazel Chase Her Athletics Dreams
At the beginning of this year, Hazel set herself a big goal — to represent Queensland in cross country. Week by week, she has worked incredibly hard towards that goal, and we are so proud that her commitment and determination have resulted in two wonderful opportunities. Hazel has been selected to represent Queensland at the Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships in Ballarat in August and, in an unexpected and very exciting surprise, has now also been called up to represent Queensland at the National School Cross Country Championships in Sydney in September. We wouldn't ordinarily reach out and ask for support for something like this. Like many families, we do our best to make these opportunities possible for our children and understand that representative sport comes with additional costs. However, having two national championships interstate within such a short period has made the financial commitment considerably greater than we had anticipated. With travel, accommodation, uniforms, competition costs and the ongoing expenses associated with training and competing, it all adds up very quickly. So, for anyone who would genuinely like to support Hazel's journey, we have created this fundraising page to help with the costs associated with her representative athletics pathway. There is absolutely no expectation — sharing this page, sending Hazel a message of encouragement or simply cheering her on means just as much to us. But for those who would like to contribute, any support, no matter the amount, will help us give Hazel the opportunity to make the most of what she has worked so hard to achieve. Funds raised will support Hazel's ongoing athletics and cross country journey, including representative competitions, travel and accommodation, uniforms and equipment, coaching, training and other eligible costs associated with her development and competition. For us, this isn't just about getting Hazel to Ballarat and Sydney. It's about supporting a young athlete who set herself a goal, has worked hard week after week to achieve it, and now has the opportunity to see where that hard work might take her. We are incredibly proud of her and very grateful to everyone who supports her along the way. Thank you for helping Hazel keep chasing her goals. 💚💛
