ABOUT RATU VILIAME LEWANAVANUA

Carlingford, NSW

Ratu Viliame - or Vili - as he is widely known as in the Athletics fraternity has performed well at Australian National Athletics level with consistent podium finishes in all 3 jumps from the past four Australian Championships.

Vili is a 5 time NSW State Junior Triple Jump Champion and has represented NSW at the Australian Junior Championships where he has medalled each year in different disciplines as well as at the Australian Little Athletics Championships:

2023: U/15 Silver: Triple Jump U/15 Silver: High Jump

2024: U/16 Gold High Jump, Bronze: Triple Jump

2025: U/17 Gold Triple Jump, Bronze: Long Jump

2026: U/18 Silver: Triple Jump, Silver: Long Jump

Vili has just been selected to be part of the U18 Australian Athletics Team to compete in the upcoming Oceania Championships in Darwin, NT from 18 May 2026.

Having already travelled to Brisbane for the Australian Juniors in April, his achievements in Brisbane have allowed for him to be selected to represent Australia, to wear the green and gold and be one of the first indigenous Fijians to do so for Athletics.

Vili trains 3 - 4 times a week and is currently mid year in his preparations for the HSC as a year 12 student at Carlingford High School.

With all of the hard work and dedication that he has invested in, his aim to compete for Australia is a first for his family and community and will be one of the pinnacle highlights in his journey to compete at other international competitions at World Championship and Olympic Games levels.

To help with the financial overhaul that the trip to Darwin entails, Vili needs your support to get him to Oceania this year which is in the next few weeks.

The lack in funding and subsidies for Athletics in terms of travel and accommodation costs, participation and uniforms etc coupled with the late advice of selection, is proving to be challenging.

Vili needs your help.

As this trip will be solely funded by his family, any support that you can give, will help relieve the financial constraints of helping Vili reaching his goals.
