ABOUT Hollie Stevens
A love of the game that began five years ago has grown into a true passion for baseball for Hollie, age 15. With dedication, determination, and the support of her coaches and family, Hollie has developed into a talented young athlete who continues to push herself on and off the field. She currently trains three days a week, showing her commitment to improving her skills and representing her region with pride.
This year, Hollie has achieved an exciting milestone: she has been selected to represent Queensland in the all-girls Barclay Cup Tournament in Adelaide this September. The Barclay Cup is a national female junior baseball tournament that celebrates participation, development, and skill — and being chosen is an incredible honour and opportunity.
Like many young athletes from regional areas, Hollie faces significant financial challenges in being able to participate at this level. The costs of flights, accommodation, uniforms, tournament fees, and training expenses amount to around $5,000, which must be covered in order for her to compete.
We are reaching out to ask for your support in helping Hollie take part in this amazing opportunity. Any donation — big or small — will go directly toward making this dream possible and giving her the chance to showcase her talent, dedication, and love for baseball on a bigger stage.
Hollie’s participation in the Barclay Cup will not only be a personal achievement but will also highlight the talent and potential of young athletes from North Queensland. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated.
From Hollie, herself:
"Hi, my name is Hollie, I’m 15 years old and I live in Townsville, Queensland. I started playing baseball five years ago in junior league, and for the past two years I’ve been competing in the senior league in our small but passionate local baseball community. My favourite positions are third base and pitching, but I’ll always step up wherever my team needs me.
I’m proud to be part of the first all-women’s team in a league of men, and I love playing alongside such talented and hardworking women. Last year our team won the B-Grade Premiership, which was such an incredible achievement. I’ve also been lucky enough to represent in tournaments like the North Queensland Storm U16 in Brisbane (2025), Karina Connors Cup (2024), and Intercity Cairns vs Townsville Under 17s (2022–2025).
Alongside baseball, I’ve played cricket for many years and have represented both Townsville and Queensland multiple times in girls’ cricket. Sport has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m passionate about proving that girls can play just as hard and achieve just as much as anyone else.
Being selected for the Barclay Cup all-girls Queensland team in Adelaide this September is such an exciting opportunity for me. The Barclay Cup celebrates women and girls in baseball, and I’m proud to be part of it. I work hard, train harder, and I can’t wait to represent my community and my state at this level."
