What a year 2026 has been! Many of you have been cheering Hugo on since his very first steps on the dance floor, when he was wild with energy and couldn't find the Cha Cha beat. We've been encouraged to start this fundraising campaign for all the people who have followed his journey, celebrated the wins, encouraged him through the challenges, and asked how they can help. First and foremost, thank you for all the love. Most of you already know the backstory; how we decided to go FIFO to give Hugo a chance to actually compete in his own age group with a partner. At the beginning, Hugo just wanted to dance in some Junior finals. Now, the partnership has exceeded every results expectation any of us had.

At their very first competition together in Melbourne, they claimed the Junior Open Latin title.

Then, they won the National Junior Open Latin Championship in WA.

At Southern Cross back in Melbourne, they won the National Junior Open Ballroom and New Vogue titles.

They repeated the New Vogue win in Tasmania, and delivered a personal best result in what was their strongest and most competitive Latin final to date.

And they have won every single C and B grade event they've danced in together.

This isn't potential anymore. This is proof. Now, the focus turns to the final two major events of the season:• Evolution DanceSport Championship in October (with an intensive 3 week training window beforehand) then• Australian Dancesport Championships in December These competitions represent the culmination of a season built on commitment, sacrifice, and countless hours of travel and training across state borders for Hugo. And maintaining this partnership has come at a cost. Every trip requires flights, accommodation, coaching, and competition expenses (plus, how does he keep dancing through his ballroom shoes?) We're now raising funds to help cover:• Interstate airfares for Hugo's training and competition• Accommodation during competition and training periods This isn't about luxury. It's about giving a dedicated young athlete the opportunity to build something special, doing the thing he loves. The reality is that talent, effort, and results have already been demonstrated. The challenge is simply overcoming the distance that separates them for most of the year. Every donation, no matter the size, helps keep Hugo in the air and then on the dance floor. If you've watched Hugo grow from a baby dancer into a now multiple-times National champion, this is a chance to be part of the next chapter. Every donation is tax-deductible through the Australian Sports Foundation and goes directly towards helping Hugo finish this incredible 2026 season as strongly as possible. And thank you for believing in him. ❤️ If you have other fundraising, or accommodation ideas, please feel free to get in touch. We can be found on all the platforms!
