Who We Are

Ice Hockey ACT (IHACT) is the peak body responsible for the administration and development of ice hockey in the ACT. We are a volunteer-led association, meaning every game delivered, every program run and every player supported is made possible through the dedication of our community.

All activity is delivered through Phillip Ice Skating Centre, the ACT's only permanent ice rink and the home of ice hockey in our region.

What We Do

We deliver junior and senior leagues, development programs, and representative pathways for players of all ages and experience levels, from children taking their first steps on the ice to experienced senior players competing at the highest level.

Our junior program has seen remarkable growth, with participation more than doubling since 2024. We now support over 155 junior players across four grades, alongside dedicated development academies, high-performance programs and representative pathways that give our best young players the opportunity to compete interstate and nationally.

For our young players, ice hockey is about far more than the game. The structure of training and competition builds discipline, resilience, teamwork and confidence, creating lasting connections through sport.

Ice hockey is one of the most rewarding but demanding sports a family can commit to. It requires time, travel, coordination and significant financial investment, and as a volunteer-led association operating from a single venue, our resources are limited.

As participation continues to grow, investment in equipment access, development programs and representative pathways is becoming increasingly critical. Your donation directly supports our players, their families and the volunteers who make it all possible, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to participation in our sport.
