The Illawarra has a proud rugby league history, and we are committed to creating strong opportunities for the next generation of local players.

Illawarra Steelers supports the development of grassroots representative rugby league across the Illawarra by helping provide the resources needed for young athletes to grow and succeed. Funds raised will help strengthen player development through coaching, training support, wellbeing initiatives, equipment, camps, travel and other key pathway opportunities for boys and girls across the region.

Representative rugby league is about more than performance on the field. It helps young people build confidence, discipline, resilience and a strong sense of belonging. It gives local players the opportunity to challenge themselves, represent their region with pride and develop as both athletes and people.

Our goal is to foster rugby league development and create meaningful opportunities for young players throughout the Illawarra. With the support of our community, we can continue to strengthen local pathways and help the next generation reach their potential in the scarlet and white.
