ABOUT Isabella Simurina
I am honoured to announce that I have been selected to represent Australia in Volleyball at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Berlin, Germany. This selection marks an important step in my sporting career, and I look forward to competing internationally against some of the world’s top university athletes. Representing Australia on such a global stage is a privilege, and I am motivated to give my best and contribute meaningfully to the team’s efforts.
Balancing my commitments as a student-athlete continues to be challenging but incredibly rewarding. I am currently undertaking a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the Australian National University while training full-time with the Australian Volleyball Academy. This has required me to relocate from home and carefully manage full-time study, part-time work, and elite training simultaneously.
Being selected to represent my country is an honour, but it also brings financial responsibilities. The costs associated with competing internationally—including travel, accommodation, uniforms, and preparation—are entirely self-funded. At this stage, my training and competition expenses are covered through my own efforts. I'd be grateful for any support, which assists me to stay focused on my growth and keep working towards reaching my full potential.
Thank you for taking the time to read about this next chapter in my journey. I’m proud to represent Australia and eager to share my progress and experiences along the way.
