ABOUT jackson ireland
A few years ago, I wasn’t an endurance athlete. I definitely wasn’t someone you would have picked to swim through freezing water, ride over mountains and then run a marathon.
But somehow, this is where the journey has taken me.
I’ve now completed Patagonman in Chile and AAA XTRI, and I’m continuing to work my way through the XTRI World Tour. The longer-term goal is Norseman, but for me the journey is as much about the process as the finish line.
XTRI racing is very different to a normal triathlon. The distances are familiar, but the environment changes everything. Cold water, mountains, remote roads, unpredictable weather and long periods where you have to adapt and keep moving forward.
That challenge is what keeps pulling me back.
I’m doing this alongside work, family and normal life, and I’ve funded the journey myself to this point. As the racing has grown, so has the commitment required to keep progressing — international travel, race entries, equipment, nutrition, coaching, training camps and the other costs that come with competing properly.
This page is less about fundraising in the traditional sense and more about giving people and businesses the opportunity to back the journey.
Support helps me continue racing, training and sharing the experience, while also allowing me to take on bigger events and keep pushing towards the next goal.
I’ll continue sharing the full journey along the way — the training, the travel, the setbacks, the races, the good days and the ones that hurt.
I want to see how far I can take this.
If you choose to support me, thank you. I genuinely appreciate having you as part of the journey.
