ABOUT Jacob Hristianopoulos
My name is Jacob Hristianopoulos, and I'm a long jumper with one goal: the Olympic Games.
I've been doing athletics since I was 10, and, like most journeys in sport, it hasn't been easy. Setbacks, injuries, challenges; I've had my share of all of them. But through all of it, one thing has never changed: my commitment to getting better.
Right now, I'm not just competing. I'm pushing to actually make something happen.
I'm a multiple-time WA State Champion in both long jump and the 100m, with a personal best of 7.46m. This season, the goal is straightforward: break through 7.70m and compete consistently at a level that puts me on the map. Everything I'm doing is building toward that bigger picture. To qualify for and compete at the Olympics.
This season is about consistency, high performance, and putting myself in the right environments to do what I do best. Thus, my decision to complete another European tour to match it with the best.
The reality of athletics in Australia, though, is that it's almost entirely self-funded. Coaching, physio, gym, recovery, travel, competitions, which add up fast. This season alone will cost over $21,600, with the bulk of that going toward travel and comp fees. On top of that, I'm training six days a week, studying at university, and working part-time. It's a lot to manage, but it's what competing at this level demands.
Any support goes directly toward covering the travel and expenses that make competing at this level possible, and every contribution genuinely makes a difference. It means more time and energy focused on training, recovery, and performance, rather than the logistics of funding it all.
If you back me, you're backing someone who's completely all in.
This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to see how far it goes.
