ABOUT Jai Carson
Little bit about me
I am a proud member of the Adelaide Soaring Club, where I have received comprehensive training and expertise from seasoned pilots and coaches. I have been gliding for 4 years, solo for 3, and flying cross-country competitively for 1 season. I am an active member around the ASC, where I spend my time mentoring younger and less experienced pilots, assisting with briefings and theory lessons. I am currently receiving training for my AEI certificate, which will allow me to instruct ab-initio pilots, and conduct air experience flights!
Achievements
- I have obtained my GPC, Passenger Rating and Aerobatic Endorsement.
- Competed in my first Junior National Gliding Championships (JoeyGlide 2026), where I spent a week completing challenging cross country tasks and finished in 5th place!
- Completed my first 300km flight, with an average speed of 81 KPH.
- Finished my first XC season with 3360km flown over 52 hours.
My Goals
My ultimate goal is to compete in the 2029 Junior World Championships, held in Lake Keepit, QLD.
To do that, I have some other goals to tick off first:
- Compete in the 2027 Junior National Gliding Championships(JoeyGlide).
- Compete in the 2026 South Australian State Championships.
- Build more experience in flying XC competitions at a State and National level.
- Gain more experience flying longer distances (currently aiming for 500kms).
- Extend my connections within the Australian Gliding community.

I have a lot of goals, and I would truly appreciate your assistance in getting there!

Gliding is my greatest passion, and has changed my life for the better.
