Personal Statement – Jai Crampton

Basketball has been a major part of my life since I first started playing in 2016. The sport has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to push myself beyond my comfort zone. Representing the Tumut Timberwolves and competing in the BNSW Southern Junior League has helped me grow as both a player and a teammate, and I’m proud of the hard work that has led to multiple MVP awards and championship seasons.

In 2023, I was selected to compete at the National Indigenous Basketball Tournament for NSW, an experience that strengthened my pride in my culture and allowed me to test myself against some of the best young Indigenous athletes in the country. Playing at that level pushed me to grow further and reinforced my commitment to pursuing higher pathways in the sport.

I am committed to improving every year and taking every opportunity to learn from coaches, teammates, and higher-level competition. Representing Riverina at CHS state championships and earning the Riverina Medal has motivated me to keep striving for the next level.

My goal is to continue developing my skills, contribute positively to any team I am part of, and pursue future pathways in basketball. I am dedicated, coachable, and always willing to put in the work needed to succeed.
