Help James Represent Australia & Victoria in Ice & Inline Hockey!

Hi, my name is James Sullivan, I’m 9 years old and I live in the western suburbs of Melbourne. With the help of my dad, I’ve started this fundraising campaign to support my journey in Ice Hockey and Inline Hockey — two sports I’m incredibly passionate about. My dream is to be the best I can be and go as far as possible in these sports.

I’m proud to share that I’ve recently been selected to represent Australia (Aussie Roos U11 Division) at the Oceania Inline Championships in New Zealand this July 2025!

On top of that, I’ve also been selected to represent Victoria at the Inline Hockey National Championships in Tasmania, coming up in September/October 2025.

Why I Need Your Help

I train hard every week, sometimes up to 15 hours across early mornings and late nights , aswell as going to school , I’m a member of several amazing clubs including Sunshine Roller Skating Rink, ICEHQ Summer League, and the Docklands Ice Wolves.

We travel often — from Docklands to Reservoir to Oakleigh for Ice Hockey, and to Sunshine, Moe , lilydale , Geelong, Bendigo, and even Sydney for tournaments. I recently competed in Sydney where my team won Gold!

But playing at this level is expensive. The costs include:

• Tournament, registration & insurance fees
• Uniforms & team gear
• Hockey sticks, gloves & protective equipment
• Skate maintenance (blade sharpening, new wheels, bearings)
• Travel & accommodation for interstate and overseas events
• Extra training & coaching sessions
• private lessons
• off ice strength and conditioning

Even though I’ve applied for numerous sporting grants, getting sponsorship or funding for niche sports like Ice and Inline Hockey in Australia is really tough — which is why I’ve turned to Australian Sports Foundation to raise funds
