    ABOUT James Van Dyk

I found the sport of bobsleigh almost by accident while living and working in Whistler, Canada, and never could have imagined the journey it would take me on, or that it would lead to a serious campaign to represent Australia on the Olympic stage. Coordinating the push and load of a 4-man team to then shoot down an icy chute at speeds of up to 150km/h+, bobsleigh is a disciplined, precision sport that combines my love of team sport with the adrenaline-fueled nature of the adventure sports that drew me to the Canadian mountains in the first place.

Our team, Bobteam Scott, is now focused on qualifying for the Olympics via the 2025/26 North America Cup circuit. We’ll be competing across Whistler (Canada), Park City (Utah), and Lake Placid (New York), with a 10-week pre-season training block in Calgary.

With bobsleigh being a minority sport in Australia, our season is almost entirely self-funded. Covering five and a half months of travel, accommodation, training, gear, equipment transport, and competition fees is a massive challenge — on top of the intense physical preparation.

Every donation is tax deductible and goes directly toward making this journey possible, bringing me one step closer to representing Australia on the world stage.

Thanks for being part of the ride and supporting our Olympic dream!
