My name is Joey Elliss,

I am an up and coming Australian Park and Pipe skier, trying to qualify to the 2026 Winter Olympic games in Italy.

I have grown up with Thredbo as my local resort and have gone through all the stages of programs there from being a Thredboland kid to now an NSWIS athlete.

I have competed at high levels in junior age events including Youth Olympic Games and Junior Worlds Championships. The 2024/25 Northern Hemisphere season was my first season competing in open age events and I had good results in Europa Cup events, making finals in five out of five events, my best results being two fifth placings. I also competed in a few World Cup events and was a member of the Australian team at the 2025 World championships in Switzerland.

Australia has one country quota position on the World Cup tour in slopestyle and big air competition and I am happy to say that Snow Australia has allocated me the position for the 2025/2026 season which is also the qualifying season for the 2026 Winter Games.

There are six events prior to the games, three Slopestyle and three Big Air, and and my plan is to compete in all the events to have the best chance of qualifying. It is a hectic schedule, starting in Stubai, Austria on November 21-22nd then two events in China, November 28-30 and Dec 4-6, Steamboat, USA December 11-13, Aspen, USA Jan 7-10, Laax Switzerland Jan 15-17.

Representing Australia at the Olympics has been my biggest goal since I started skiing and now that this dream is close to becoming a reality I want to do everything I can to get there.

The travel costs are substantial and all donations would be the biggest help and mean the world to me as it helps me get closer to achieving this dream.
