Let’s start with a bit of a back story. I tried taking Kane to every sports “come and try” day possible. Every single one ended the same - in tears. He was so anxious and would just freeze.

That was until he tried American Football in 2023. From having never played a sport before, to playing one of the most brutal contact sports. But he LOVED it. And to my surprise, was actually really good at it….

After his first season in 2023 with Bayside Ravens Youth, he walked away with Players Player and MVP, but more importantly than that, confidence and some of the most incredible friendships and mentors.

In 2024, Kane moved up to the Bayside Ravens Juniors team. As a Mum, putting my 14 year old into a competition against kids up to 18 years old, I was worried. But Kane committed to working in the gym with the wonderful Coach Knight 3 times a week. Not only did he grow physically, but also mentally and emotionally. To the point where he made the Queensland Sun Devils u/16’s team and finished the club season with “Junior Rookie of the Year”.

Kane recently travelled to Melbourne to compete for Queensland against Victoria. Although the boys didn’t come away with the win, they had an amazing experience and did QLD proud. Plus Kane scored a touchdown with a brilliant Pick-Six!

He has now been selected to represent AUSTRALIA in the Festival of Football in July on the Gold Coast. It would mean the world to both Kane and I, if you could please help make this happen. It takes a village and I’m inviting you to please be apart of that.
