ABOUT Karien Lambert
Competing at a national level in three different sports during my school years, I always assumed that competitive sport would be a lifelong part of my identity.
But life had other plans.
At just 21 years old, a serious car accident followed by two traumatic strokes forced me to lay down those dreams. For years, I believed that chapter of my life was closed for good.
Until now…
In late 2024, after the birth of my third child, I took up CrossFit but this time as an adaptive athlete. What started as a step toward improving my physical and mental health quickly ignited something much deeper. I entered my first Adaptive CrossFit Open shortly after, which led to a Semi-Finals invitation, and now, I’ve been officially invited to compete on the global stage at the 2025 Adaptive CrossFit Games in Las Vegas!
I’ll be competing in the Moderate Neuromuscular Impairment category, representing not only myself, but every person who’s ever had to rewrite their story after life threw a curveball.
The Games are organised by WheelWOD, and take place this September. While I’m training hard to give it my all, I need your help to cover the travel, accommodation, equipment, and competition costs involved in making this dream a reality.
I’m a mum of three and someone who is deeply passionate about showing others that resilience isn’t just about bouncing back - it’s about rising stronger.
If you feel led to support this journey, whether through a donation or simply by sharing my story, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Let’s show the world what strength really looks like.
