    ABOUT Kayne Kellett

    Wulguru, QLD

I compete with right-side hemiplegia as a result of an in-utero stroke, and sport has become a huge part of who I am.

Over the past few years, I’ve been proud to break multiple Australian records, including U15, U17 and now U20 long jump, along with records in the 200m and javelin. Last year I was ranked #1 in the world for U17 long jump, which motivates me to keep pushing for bigger goals.

One of my proudest achievements so far has been finishing 3rd in the Open Men’s Long Jump at Nationals, competing against senior athletes from across the country. I’ve also been honoured to be named a finalist for QLD Junior Para Athlete of the Year.

I know I’m only at the beginning of my journey, with so much more to learn and achieve. My focus is on continuing to improve, representing Australia, and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

My dream is to represent Australia on the world stage, with the ultimate goal of competing at the Paralympic Games. I know there are many steps along that path, and I’m focused on taking them one at a time.

My first major goal is to earn selection for the 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games in Malta and proudly wear the green and gold.

Living in North Queensland means the journey comes with extra challenges, including frequent travel for competitions, interstate flights, and time away from home. But those sacrifices are all part of chasing the goals I’ve set for myself.

Every bit of support will help ease the cost of travel, accommodation, and competition expenses, allowing me to focus on training and performing at my best. I’m incredibly grateful for any contribution and for everyone who chooses to be part of my journey toward representing Australia.
