Kristine Perkins – Australian Sprint Cyclist

Kristine Perkins is an Australian sprint cyclist competing at the highest international level in an Olympic discipline. A former Australian National Champion and World Championship medallist, Kristine has returned to elite sport after a 16-year retirement to raise two children — a comeback that has already resulted in international podium success.

    Career Highlights

    • Former Australian National Champion
    • World Championship Medallist (Team Sprint – Olympic Event)
    • Returned to elite competition after a 16-year break
    • Selected to the Australian National Team
    • Represented Australia at the UCI Nations Cup (Turkey)
    • UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Chile (Oct 2025):
    • 🥉 Bronze Medal – Women’s Team Sprint
    • 🇦🇺 New Australian Record
    • Selected for UCI Track World Cup – Perth March 2026
    • Nominated on the long list for the 2026 Commonwealth Games (Glasgow)

    The Challenge

Alongside her international podium results, Kristine currently competes without direct athlete funding through her National Sporting Organisation.

    • Her return to elite sport has been largely self-funded
    • Operates a coaching business alongside full-time training
    • International competition and mandatory training camps require extended travel, limiting her ability to work
    • High-performance sprint cycling is equipment-dependent, and Kristine currently does not have access to the same level of equipment as funded Australian teammates and international competitors

At this level, marginal equipment differences can be the difference between a podium and missing finals.

    Sponsorship Support Sought

Kristine is seeking financial sponsorship support to assist with:

    • High-performance competition bike and equipment upgrades
    • (frameset alone is $12,000)
    • International travel and competition preparation
    • Training and performance support costs

This support would directly enable Kristine to compete on a level playing field with the world’s best while continuing to represent Australia and Western Australia on the international stage.

    Current Competitive Status

Kristine is actively competing against the world’s best in an Olympic sprint event and remains within the national high-performance pathway. Her recent performances demonstrate medal capability at World Championships level and confirm her relevance as Australia progresses toward the next Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
