ABOUT Kyra Farao

Slacks Creek, QLD

Currently, I am raising funds to support me in my journey to Australian Gymnastics Championships approaching at the end of June. The funds would go toward my travels, accomodation, uniforms, recovery and essentials to my training (guards, tape, etc).

MY LIFE: I have been in the sport of gymnastics for 14 years as of 2026, committing to countless hours of training, recovery and strength on top of school education, and now university demands. Today I train 20 hours a week, alongside full-time university study, juggling time for myself, time to try and work and time to catch up with and see the people in my life who I love.

MY WHY: The journey as a whole has been far from easy, with injuries, stressors and life itself becoming overwhelming, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. This sport teaches me so much every day about myself and the incredible things I can do and has helped me grow into the young lady I am today.

Having the opportunity to represent my state at this competition has me feeling nothing but pride, excitement and a little bit of nervousness but that’s all apart of the ride. The continuous support I receive from my family, friends and teammates is a constant reminder of how far I’ve come and why I have opportunities like this.

FUTURE GOALS: Looking toward the future in my sport, I hope to continue to pursue goals of international level competitions hoping to represent the country at a competition, even if it means holding back a fraction of time in relation to my nursing career.

The passion and determination I hold, along with the love and commitment I have to this sport, continues to motivate me as an athlete and person, and that is something that will never change.
