Help Lachie Represent Australia in Ice Hockey

My name is Lachie, I’m 14 years old, and I’m a proud ice hockey goalie. This year, I’ve been selected to represent Australia in the U16 Youth Pan-Pacific Series in Melbourne – and I need your help to get there .

To attend this tournament, I’m aiming to raise $3500. This will go towards essential costs like travel, accommodation, uniforms, and tournament fees.

After competing in my first interstate tournament in Melbourne over Easter, I was honoured to be selected to play for Team WA at the 2025 Kurt DeFris 15U National Championships, where we proudly brought home the gold medal. Based on my performance in that tournament, I was selected to wear the green and gold for Team Australia at the upcoming Youth Pan-Pacific Series, playing against the best young ice hockey players from across the Asia-Pacific region (New Zealand and Hong Kong).

Ice hockey isn’t a mainstream sport in Australia, which means families cover most of the costs themselves. Representing my country at this level is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity…but it comes with a big price tag.

This is more than just a tournament, it’s a stepping stone toward my dream of playing ice hockey at the highest level (maybe even the Olympics!). Being selected for Team Australia is a huge honour and one I’ve worked really hard for. I train multiple times a week, balancing school, fitness, and specialist goalie coaching.
