Largs Bay Sailing Club isn’t just a place to sail. It’s where kids learn resilience, where volunteers give their time freely, and where generations have discovered a lifelong love of the water. On any given weekend, you’ll find families rigging boats together, beginners finding their confidence, and experienced sailors passing on what they know. It’s a community built on trust—especially trust that when something goes wrong, someone will be there.

Our rescue boats are a big part of that trust.

They keep our sailors safe during training, racing, and unpredictable conditions. They allow parents to feel comfortable sending their kids out onto the water. They’re the quiet backbone of everything we do. But right now, that backbone is ageing. Maintenance is becoming more frequent, reliability less certain, and the risks—while still managed—are growing.

So we’re coming together to do something about it.

Through community events, local support, and donations, we’re working to replace and upgrade our rescue fleet. Every dollar raised brings us closer to safer training days, stronger programs, and the confidence that we can keep doing what we love for years to come.
